Paamonim Student Branches

You’ve been accepted into a bachelor’s program, chosen your school, and decided where to live—whether in dorms, a

rental, or with your parents. Before long, expenses start piling up, income feels scarce, and you’re left wondering how to manage it all.

A friend refers you to the podcast Dear Student, and another invites you to a lecture on “Proper Financial Conduct” given by Paamonim students. Suddenly, things seem clearer, and you wonder: how do they know all this? How can you become a Paamonim student?

Seven institutions of higher education across the country, from Tel Hai to Ben Gurion, host Paamonim student branches. These branches provide support for families struggling with financial management while also enhancing the knowledge and involvement of students on campus.

Every year, 400 highly qualified students are recruited for a 30-hour training course, where they gain the knowledge and skills needed to volunteer as family mentors, facilitators in youth-at-risk programs, and more. Guided by the branch’s management team, composed entirely of veteran students, the volunteers work in pairs to assist households. They help families move from financial instability to economic balance by building budgets, managing debts, and planning for long-term financial stability.

In addition, the branches host open lectures on campuses about planned and proper financial management. They also offer personalized assistance, where students help fellow students by reviewing income, expenses, budget creation, and future financial planning.

What families say about the program:

  • “The students’ help brought a huge change in my life and the lives of my children. Thank you for the incredible gift you’ve given us.”
  • “We want to personally thank the pair of students who took the time and energy to mentor us. They were so sensitive and guided us to financial security. You’ve given me a lifelong gift, and I cherish it deeply. God bless you.”
  • “Many thanks to the lovely Shahar and Sapir, who dedicated their precious time to help others. This is such an underrated virtue! I’m grateful to the organization for existing and for the wonderful idea of educating and empowering people with poor financial knowledge.”
  • “I’d like to personally thank the lovely Dikla and Itamar, who supported me through this process. Thank you for making me feel comfortable, even though it wasn’t easy. Your professionalism, sensitivity, and belief in my ability to change made all the difference. Thank you for being there every step of the way.”
