Chani met Eyal when he had 4 execution files.
The total debt was about NIS 200,000. At the time, the couple lived in a rented apartment, underwent fertility treatments and earned a total of NIS 10,000 net together.
Things looked good until the execution files were discovered (Eyal didn’t know about them before), when the daily survival began.
At this stage, Eyal is subject to a stay of exit order, arrest warrant, various restrictions on accounts, etc. The entire process of closing and canceling the various orders took considerable sums. In addition, a lawyer they hired stung them for NIS 5,000.
Chani and Eyal reached a point where they could not meet the regular payments of their monthly bills and rent.
Chani says: “We started issuing credit cards in order to get an additional monthly cash flow in order to survive. We got to the point of taking out 8 credit cards that were filled to capacity, a bank with an obligo of about NIS 150,000 and everyone turned off the tap.
At this stage, with debts of about NIS 380,000, we turned to the paamonim.”
In what way is the help of paamonim expressed?
- A Paamonim representative came to Hani and Eyal at a stage when they understood that it was impossible to continue and were mentally ready to make a change. He gave hope for the future and explained that the situation could be improved through hard work.
- On the advice of a Paamonim representative, the couple enlisted the family’s help: they moved in with their parents (couple + 2 children). The parents volunteered their bank account so they could take out loans and get more convenient payment arrangements. Slowly, the family began to see the light.
- Chani and Eyal increased their income (working 2 jobs each).
- They reached arrangements with the banks and closed the execution files.
- They understood the orderly and precise budget according to which it is necessary and worthwhile to live.
Chani says: “As of today, we still live with our parents. In the two years that we used paamonim, we managed to cut over NIS 200,000 from our debts. B”H next year we are going to move into our own apartment.
We have two amazing three-year-old twin daughters who were born before the paamonim process even began and they are growing into a balanced financial budget and God forbid we will be able to educate them about this in their adult lives.
Today I volunteer at Paamonim myself out of a sense of mission and gratitude for the tools and strength that I myself drew and received from paamonim.”
