Separating from growth

Financial independence for divorced people

This population faces many unique challenges stemming from the complex personal situation. One of the biggest challenges is maintaining the family’s financial stability and/or becoming financially independent (sometimes for the first time in life). This program was developed to address these challenges.

Purpose of the program

Divorced individuals participating in the program will improve their independence and economic stability, employment stability and parental dialogue with their children and their former spouse over time.

background

Central Bureau of Statistics data show that the overall divorce rate in Israel is about 27%, and that there has been a significant increase in the percentage of divorced people in the population. In addition, it was found that in relation to married couples, divorced couples are less satisfied with their economic situation, feel poorer, make more concessions due to financial difficulty, express less optimism, and feel more lonely.

Therefore, Paamonim operates a program that provides a holistic solution tailored to the divorced population.

Program structure

The program combines two components: one group meetings that enable participants to receive support and connection with peer groups. A group in which they will feel legitimate to share their financial and personal difficulties. The second is individual accompaniment that provides a personalized response to the unique situation of each participant.

  • 13 group meetings focused on three axes of life: economic, occupational and family.
  • Personal accompaniment is tailored on one or more of the aforementioned axes.

The program’s target audience

The program is intended for divorced people aged 20-55, with earning ability, with at least one child under the age of 18, who are motivated and willing to make a profound change in their lives.

The program operates in Acre, Bat Yam and Be’er Sheva. Registration is open to residents of cities and the surrounding area.
