Why It Matters

Teaching the skills for a stable financial future

Through personalized mentoring, families develop the knowledge and habits needed to stay financially strong and pass that stability on to the next generation.

Evacuated Families

Thousands fled overnight with nothing. They face rent they can't pay, jobs that vanished, and no safety net. A Paamonim mentor gives them a real plan to rebuild.

Reservists & Their Families

Hundreds of days away from work led to business collapse, missed mortgage payments, and crushing family stress. We help them get back to financial stability.

Women at Risk

Financial abuse traps women in dangerous situations. Our dedicated program gives them the independence and tools to build a life on their own terms.

Young Adults

War derailed their futures before they started. We give them financial literacy, mentoring, and support to step into adulthood on solid ground.

Nova Survivors & War Casualties

Trauma compounds financial ruin. Our mentors provide both practical recovery plans and emotional support, because healing requires both.

Systemic, Not Charitable

Financial Capability That Lasts In partnership with ministries, universities, and local organizations, we deliver practical financial tools that drive lasting structural change.

Real Stories

Families Who Found Their Way Back

Behind every statistic is a real family. Here are some of their stories.

My name is Hillel. I’m married, a father of four young kids, a construction foreman, and over the past two and a half years, mostly a soldier.

On October 7, everything came to a halt. I was called up to the Golani Brigade for reserve duty, and since then I’ve served roughly 400 days.

During that time, my wife and I realized our finances weren’t working. Not because we were irresponsible, but because no one had ever really taught us how to manage them.

We felt stuck. We didn’t have a clear way to handle our money, what to prioritize, or how to deal with income and expenses while everything around us kept shifting.

Through the army, we were connected with Paamonim, where we met Naomi.

Naomi really took the time to understand us. She helped us get our heads above water, feel more in control, and move forward step by step.

From Reserve Duty to Starting My Own Business

Something changed during my reserve service.

After my fifth round, I decided to take a leap and start my own woodworking business.

It wasn’t easy. The first time I walked into the workshop, I realized how much I still had to learn. But the guidance I received from Paamonim gave me real tools, not just financially, but in how I think and make decisions.

Naomi helped me turn the idea into a practical plan. How to price my work, how to run a business, and how to build something stable that can grow over time. Today, I don’t just feel like a carpenter. I feel like a business owner with direction.

So what do I do today?

I create custom woodwork, from large wardrobes and kitchens to one of a kind pieces.

I bring precision, creativity, and care into every project

Hilel

Hi, I’m Pasatmo Muza. I was born in Ethiopia in 1989, grew up in Haifa, and today live in Hadera. I’m one of five siblings, and independence has always been important to me. I served in the Paratroopers and, since the war began, I’ve spent around 400 days in reserve duty.

While I was serving, there was another kind of pressure waiting for me at home. Financially, things weren’t as stable as I thought.

Before coming to Paamonim, I believed we were doing fine. But the truth is, I didn’t really know. I wasn’t tracking anything clearly, I didn’t understand where the money was going, and there was constant stress in the background. It followed me everywhere, during reserve duty and at home. I felt worn out.

Then I met Yarden from Paamonim.

For the first time, things were clear.

And we made a plan: I learned how to manage a budget, track expenses, and make decisions within clear limits.

Yarden gave me confidence. He stayed consistent, supported me through every challenge, and made sure I never felt like I was dealing with this alone.

Today, I’m in a completely different place. It didn’t happen overnight, but gradually things became more organized and more stable. I feel in control, and I finally have peace of mind.

That peace allows me to focus on what really matters, my service and my family.

Paamonim gave me skills I’ll carry with me for life.

Yarden, thank you for your patience, your support, and for sticking with me every step of the way.

Naomi Yarbouh, a mother from northern Israel raising children with special needs, turned to Paamonim during the war as she struggled to keep up financially.

With the support of her mentors, she began to take control of her finances for the first time. Together, they mapped out her income and expenses and created a practical plan she could actually follow.

What once felt intimidating became manageable. Naomi gained the confidence to face her finances and make informed decisions.

At the same time, she moved forward with a professional path she had been considering for years. With additional guidance, including support from a business consultant from Paamonim, Gili Hefer, she set up her business properly, opened a dedicated business account, and built a more stable financial foundation.

Today, Naomi feels more in control, more stable, and more hopeful about the future. In her words: “meeting people who give their time and expertise to support families in financial hardship gave me a real sense of hope and confidence. Their support went beyond finances and provided the stability and encouragement I needed to keep moving forward”.

Naomi

I perform on stage and work with a youth ensemble in Tel Aviv. I’m used to telling stories, taking emotion and turning it into something people can feel. Pain, joy, success, disappointment. That’s my world.
But there was one story I didn’t know how to face, my own finances.
For a long time, I knew something wasn’t working. I felt out of control and didn’t really trust how I was managing money. Eventually, I decided it was time to deal with it and reached out to Paamonim.
Then the war began.
As a reservist, everything shifted. Expenses went up, income dropped, and the need to get things in order became immediate.
Around that time, I met Naama through the “Economic Space” program, and it was exactly what I needed.
We spent hours going through everything. It wasn’t simple, but slowly things started to make sense. Every expense, every account, all of it became clear. For the first time, I actually knew what was going on with my money.
She gave me practical tools to manage things in a way that finally felt stable.
Later, I met Gili Hefer, a business advisor and mentor. He helped me think differently about my work and how to move forward, even in uncertain times.
What keeps me going through long days in reserve duty is knowing there’s meaning behind all of this. People who choose to give their time and knowledge to help others build something more stable.
Today, when I step on stage with my ensemble, I feel lighter. The structure Naama helped me build, and the direction Gili gave me, allow me to keep creating, singing, and doing what I love.
Thank you to the Paamonim team for giving me the stability that makes all of this possible.
You’re the support behind the scenes.

Naama

My name is Shai. I’m a single mother to a nine year old, Eli.

I moved back to my hometown, Kibbutz Beit Zera, so Eli could grow up with the kind of community and values I had. But over the past two years, life there changed in ways we never expected.

The war reached us in every way. Schools shifted to online learning, the kids were home most of the day, expenses kept rising, and financial support from the kibbutz stopped.

At the time, I was in my second year of studying education and art, working toward building a future for us. But the financial pressure kept building. I hit a breaking point. My credit card was blocked, my credit score dropped, and the stress felt overwhelming.

That’s when I found the “Poalim Tzafona” program by Paamonim, in partnership with Bank Hapoalim.

The program was designed for people like me, families in the north dealing with the impact of the war and the rising cost of living. It gave me structured, personal financial guidance and real support.

Through one on one meetings, I learned how to build a budget, prioritize expenses, and create a plan I could actually stick to. For the first time, I was able to face my finances with clarity instead of fear.

I still remember my first meeting with Hila, my mentor from Ma’ale HaGalil. She helped me take all the chaos and turn it into something organized and manageable. From day one, I had a clear structure I could rely on.

Today, when I stand in front of my students at the school where I teach, I feel different. With the guidance I received and the determination I found in myself, I was able to pay off 30,000 shekels in debt.

There’s still a long road ahead. But today I know that even in an uncertain reality, with the right support and the right tools, it’s possible to build real financial stability and security for my family.
