-Vadim, spent the past fifteen years at his place of residence in the south of Israel.
After relocating to the north of the country with his wife and young child (who was at the time carrying their second child), Vadim struggled to find decently paid employment.
As a high school graduate Vadim, who majored in computer science with fairly good marks, was attracted to the IT world, however had no formal education nor any professional experience.
Upon his enlistment to the IDF, Vadim was accepted to the MAMRAM unit (Data Center and Computer Systems) however was compelled to leave after several months. He had also spent a year at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering in the Negev however he dropped out of at the end of the first year.
Vadim always envisioned himself landing a job in the high-tech sector, with an emphasis on a software development, however due to his lack of knowledge and zero training he had no idea how to turn this dream into reality.
With the help of Armon Kil, a Paamonin volunteer and career counselor, who’s also a proficient high-tech professional, Vadim began searching for free online courses in computer programming, and within no time had set out to educate himself.
This initial step taken by Vadim to gain practical tools and education enabled him and the counselor to recognize this was indeed the perfect professional move, and Vadim was highly motivated to continue with his online studies. In conjunction with Paamonim’s counseling and his studies, Vadim began searching for a job in the IT industry.
As Armon often says, “Luck comes to those who seek and strive for it” and within two months, Vadim was able to successfully pass a series of interviews, and was accepted to take on a role in Quality Assurance.
Today, besides his work in Quality Assurance, Vadim is now studying to become a WEB developer, which he hopes to complete by mid-2023, and hopefully find a position that will further enhance his employment path.
